Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 375 horsepower with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors mated to TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission that combine to deliver an estimated 50 MPGe including up to 25 miles of pure electric operation. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s 400-volt, 17-kWh, 96-cell lithium-ion battery pack, underneath the second-row seat, uses nickel manganese cobalt graphite chemistry. The Wrangler 4xe hybrid powertrain has three modes of operation, known as E Selec: Hybrid using battery power first, Electric using electric power only until the battery reaches the minimum charge and eSave: Prioritizes propulsion from the 2.0-liter engine, saving the battery charge for later use. Jeep Wrangler 4xe models will be available in Europe, China and the United States by early 2021.
