The standard audio system comprises eleven speakers and a digital amplifier, while the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System features 16 speakers, and there's an optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System. Also available in addition to optional heated seats are newly designed climate seats for driver and front passenger where cooled air is drawn in from the interior then guided along the body to the seats’ built-in fans for particularly effective temperature control of the seat cushions and backrests.
The BMW 8 Series Coupe is equipped with standard Cruise Control with braking function as well as Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, the latest version of which alerts the driver when a cyclist is detected. Depending on the situation, the system can bring the vehicle to a halt to either avoid a collision or minimize its consequences. For parking and maneuvering, the active Park Distance Control with sensors at the front and rear is standard and provides visual and acoustic warnings to avoid colliding with obstacles at the sides or rear of the vehicle.
