The BMW i4 eDrive40 is powered by a 335 horsepower single rear electric motor for an estimated range up to 300 miles at a cost of $56,395 (including $995 destination charge). The BMW i4 M50 fully-electric all-wheel drive is powered by a front 255 horsepower electric motor and a rear 308 horsepower motor for a combined maximum output of 536 horsepower for an estimated range up to 245 miles. Both use BMW’s latest 5th generation eDrive technology with instant torque-on-demand and a high-voltage battery location low in the vehicle’s floor to reduce center of gravity for improved handling. Hooking up the high-voltage battery to a Level 2 Wallbox allows it to be fed with AC power at a charging rate of up to 11 kW for a battery recharge from totally empty to 100 per cent in under 8 hours. U.S. market launch expected in Q1 of 2022.
